Valentine's Day Surprise

Holidays are so much fun with kids! Now that they are getting older and really understand what's going on especially Averie. Brandon's schedule worked out perfect because Valentine's Day landed on one of his days off so he was able to spend it home with us. Well, growing up I was always told that there was a Valentine's Day Fairy and this fairy always left me a special surprise. I always looked forward to this and wanted to keep the tradition with my own kids. So yesterday morning when the girls woke up we told them that we have seen hearts all around the house in which we needed to read them, the first heart was on the bedroom door. So we sent them all around the house on a scavenger hunt. (we had about 6 clues)
The last clue took them to my treadmill where they found tutu's that I made for them and princess purses filled with some cute Valentine's candy, sunglasses and bracelets.
They loved it! Averie said, "That Valentine's fairy knew just what I wanted!"
They had a lot of fun and so did we.
Still sleepy...
Daddy's girl
Wearing their new sunglasses.
Brandon had to go back to Fresno that night so we went out for lunch at Wingers with him.
Kaylie ate so much popcorn that she wasn't very hungry when her food came.

While at lunch Brandon said to me... "The flights to Fresno tonight are wide open and I don't have anything on my schedule this week so you and the girls should fly out with me and spend a couple of days."
I thought that this would be such a good idea, the girls and I have really been missing him so much lately and why not right?
So we packed our bags and headed to Fresno with Brandon. Well, this morning bright and early Brandon gets a phone call and he got a 4 day trip! He needed to be at the airport by noon. Can you beleive this? He hasn't flown for the last two weeks hardly at all and the only time we decide to go out he get's a call... So the girls and I got on the 1:00 flight and headed home. Oh well, there will be other times but flying alone with the girls is so hard! Actually the flying part is easy it's getting to and from the airplane with a suitcase, a stroller, a carseat and a diaper bag plus the two girls alone is the hard part!

The tutu's look great! You'll have to teach me how to make them if or when you come out here again. What a fun Valentines tradition. We are trying to do something special that involves the kids. You're braver than I am. I won't do it unless Greg is with me or I have to.

What a fun tradition for Valentines Day! I have to say that is very brave of you flying with the girls alone, that would be so hard, and so much stuff to have to lug around.

I like the valentines tradition. I've never had a tradition.. It's cute for the kids.
It is too bad about the trip though.. but at least you guys gotta chill a little longer i guess. I'm just glad Brandon got some work to do.
