MY BABY GIRL is
growing up, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Kaylie has been the
BEST sleeper. On a regular day she wakes up around 9:30. Then is back down for a nap at 11:30 or so that usually lasts about an hour and a half... Then this
wonderfully great little girl takes another nap at 3:30 for usually 2 hours. Then is down for the night at 8:00 pm! It's great except for the
inconvenience of her sleep schedule when your trying to do other things in the day. Anyway she started
climbing/falling out of her crib and landing on her head
numerous times so we decided that it's time to put her in a regular twin bed.
Averie has a day bed with a trundle bed underneath it. I thought this is great! It will save so much room! I can just push it back under during the day and pull it out for naps and night. On Thursday we took down her crib and pulled out the trundle bed and put it in place of her crib. I wanted to put it there until she gets used to it and it's close to the ground
in case she rolls off. Well it became time for
Kaylie's afternoon nap and she did so
GREAT! She went down with no problems and had a good nap. But bed time that night was a whole different story! At 8:00 pm I put her down... at 8:30 so
appeared in the living room. 9:00 I laid her back down, 9:05 there she was again. At 11:00 pm she finally stayed in her bed and went to sleep. Long story short this is going to take some time getting used to for all of us. And hopefully
Kaylie will get back on her regular sleeping schedule soon.
Kaylie must have figured out that
Averie's bed is a lot more comfortable then hers because last night when I was putting her down she kept crying and trying to get up, I asked her what was wrong and what she needed.... she pointed to
Averie's bed and took her blanket over to it. I put her up in
Averie's bed and she went right to sleep!

Wow, Kaylie is so smart! I'm glad the transition to sharing a room is going well for the girls...we're hoping to put Marcus and Holden in the same room around Christmas (to make room for the baby!)
Doesn't it just make your baby look even tinier and the bed even bigger when you first put them in?
Seems like every time I do it I tell myself to be prepared but sure enough, time and time again when the transition is made I look at that tiny little bundle and think, "what are they doing in such a big bed?"
