WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH to pick Brandon up on Wednesday at 3:45pm this past week. And we've had such a great time with him. After we picked him up we just came home and spent some time together relaxing and just enjoying having Brandon home with us.
Thursday, Averie had school and we ran some errands during the day we also went to play at the beautiful Nelsons Grove park. That evening we decided to have a pizza and movie night.
Friday was fabulous! Brandon had decided that he would take us up the the State Fair in SLC. We've gone the last few years but we've never taken the girls. This year we decided that Averie was old enough to enjoy it and appreciate it. We also invited my family to come along with us. So that afternoon we loaded up and headed for the fair. We spent about 5 hours at the fair and the girls did AMAZING! We only had a few minor melt downs due to hunger and being thirsty is my take on it. So we fixed that as fast as we could so we could enjoy our time there.
Horse rides! Our beautiful little girls did not want to get off of the little ponies. Averie is still talking about that horse and how she named him Erica! She says that she sure did love that horse he was so kind to her.
Kaylie really surprised me, she LOVED riding that pony. I knew that she is fascinated with all animals but I had no idea that she would love riding so much. When Brandon took her off she had a massive fit!
Averie loved the "fun house" her and Brandon went through it several times together.
This slide was an absolute FAVORITE they must have went down it 20 times! I don't know who liked it more Mr. Nixon or Averie!
around and round
Of course they loved the carousal
Averie thought that she was pretty special to be able to fly all by herself!
This clown was AMAZING! He could make anything, seriously fantastic...
See the leash on Averie? Unfortunately she is a runner and she is a fast runner at that! So we have to use this to keep her in close to us... At first I was a little embarrassed to use it but it keeps her safe and that's what matters!
It's unfortunate that Brandon is gone so often but it's great that when he's home, he's home and we get to do a lot of great things together as a family. We always have so much fun and make the BEST of the time that we have together.
We finished off the weekend with our yearly yard sale and a drive up to Heber City with Diana, Eric and Jace. Then we were off to the airport (I could do that drive with my eyes closed by now) to drop Brandon off and he's headed back to Fresno. We'll hopefully pick him up on Wednesday the same time as last week!

I can remember growing up the state fair. Always the big highlight of the summer and yet the end all of end alls because it meant it was time to head back to school. Fun times!
